The treatment process includes a preliminary treatment composed of screening, sieving and automatic degreasing systems. The second step of the process is an activated sludge biological treatment and as a last step of the process are designed an exigent  tertiary treatment comprising microfiltration and UV sterilization and a final pumping to a submarine emissary discharging in the highly environmentally protected “Ría of Betanzos”
